SILGA CONST IV: DICKSON HAS NO CANDIDATE, SAYS 10 PDP ASPIRANTS, ACCUSES PARTY CHAIRMAN  OF IMPOSITION

Yesterday, ten PDP aspirants out of eleven, for Southern-Ijaw constituency IV primaries, unanimously signed a statement, noting that the Bayelsa state Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, has confirmed to stakeholders on Tuesday, during an all inclusive meeting, that he has no anointed candidate.

The ten PDP aspirants noted that the aspirant being paraded by the state party Chairman, was an attempt to impose his decision on the people, and force delegates to accept it.

They further noted that the Governor had directed free, fair and credible primaries, that will reflect the decision of Southern-Ijaw constituency four people.

The aspirants therefore called on all delegates, to vote without fear or favour for their preferred candidate.

They commended the state Governor, for providing a level playing ground for all parties and called on him, to intervene and forestall the impending crisis in the constituency.

The PDP aspirants are Dr Michael Amaegberi – Ward 14, Augustine Simon Ebi – Ward 4, Ebitei Robert Tonyon – Ward 16, Don Jacob Kurobo, Ebikeseye – Ward 15, Alfred Perekere Salvation – Ward 15, Chief Daniel Ivinbeke – Ward 16, Ebi Eseduo – Ward 15, Stephen Ogiori – Ward 15, George Abel Ologbo – Ward 15 and Prosper Leigha – Ward 15.

“SILGA CONSTITUENCY 4 ASPIRANTS

PRESS RELEASE…

After a successful meeting with His Excellency Governor Henry Seriake Dickson with the party chairman in attendance on Tuesday 2nd October 2018 at Government House Yenagoa, we the SILGA Constituency 4 aspirants wish to most happily inform the general public, especially the delegates and good people of SILGA constituency 4 that the talk-na-do countryman Governor has said that he has not endorsed or anointed any candidate in our constituency. He went on to say that whoever emerges as flag bearer is his candidate and that whatever rumours making the rounds should be discountenanced and discarded.

The Governor then directed that free, fair and transparent primary election should be conducted to elect credible candidates that can win the general election in all the constituencies.

It is however disheartening to note that even after the meeting with Governor Dickson, the State Party Chairman Hon Moses Cleopas has been canvassing for votes for his preferred aspirant and working hard to impose the said aspirant on the delegates. This is tantamount to campaigning for an aspirant before the primaries and to the best our knowledge contravenes the constitution of the party.

Against this backdrop, We hereby call on all delegates to vote the candidate of their choice without fear of intimidation whenever a new date is fixed for the primaries.

We wish to express our gratitude to our amiable talk-na-do Governor for providing us a level playing ground to test our popularity as we aspire to represent our dear constituency.
We also appeal to our great Leader Governor Dickson to intervene and forestall the impending crisis in our constituency.

Long live PDP
Long live Governor Dickson
Long live SILGA Constituency 4

Signed by:

Dr Michael Amaegberi – Ward 14
Augustine Simon Ebi – Ward 4
Ebitei Robert Tonyon – Ward 16
Don Jacob Kurobo Ebikeseye – Ward 15
Alfred Perekere Salvation – Ward 15
Chief Daniel Ivinbeke – Ward 16
Ebi Eseduo – Ward 15
Stephen Ogiori – Ward 15
George Abel Ologbo – Ward 15
Prosper Leigha – Ward 15″
